We started in upstream oil and gas, where we developed deep expertise and a reputation for making SAP more effective in a complex, fast-moving industry. Along the way, we created our Plus Pack software suite — that extends SAP with practical improvements, standardized interfaces, and flexible reporting.
Today in 2025, we continue to evolve — building cloud capabilities and supporting oil and gas along with businesses in an expanding range of industries.
As the founder of Crawford Consulting, Doug is the top executive responsible for setting the organization’s vision, strategy, and long-term direction. He leads the executive team, making high-level decisions about operations, finances, and major initiatives, and works closely with both clients and our SAP consultants to achieve project goals.
Doug Crawford began his career in the upstream oil and gas industry 32 years ago, working at PwC as one of the original team members hired to develop and enhance their PREMAS and PREMAS Plus products, and later serving as one of their four lead architects developing the successor product, SAP PRA. After 7 years with PwC, Doug began his entrepreneurial career by starting Crawford Consulting, with a philosophy of providing honest, logical, and relevant SAP solutions to upstream clients.
Doug values and respects the relationships he has built and maintains with clients, colleagues, and peers as they are the foundation of Crawford Consulting. Doug’s is happy to admit his main hobby is work, where he channels his lifelong passion for optimization, efficiency, and adding value while striving to always learn and improve along the way.
I began my career in 1998 as an SAP consultant at PwC, contributing to the development of the SAP PRA module and multiple SAP PRA implementations. I later continued SAP PRA work at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young before founding Crawford Consulting SDC in 2011, where I have since led the design, development, and implementation of the Plus Pack software.
Based in Austin, I enjoy spending time with my family and following Texas Longhorns sports.
Reporting to the CEO, I oversee the implementation of company strategies and have the responsibility of delivering results on a day-to-day basis. In addition to managing daily activities that keep the company running smoothly, I mentor managers and senior managers to improve their effectiveness through personalized guidance, feedback, and support.
With 30 years experience in the software and hardware business, I’ve worked in all capacities helping companies be better today than they were yesterday.
I am a lifelong learner and try to learn at least one new life skill per year. Some of the things I have tried include: playing the guitar, riding a dirt bike, gaining practical AI skills, planting a garden, personalizing my negotiation style, snowboarding, creating floral arrangements, impactful giving, watercolor painting, writing poetry, running a half marathon, managing vacation rentals, fly fishing, driving tractors and UI/UX design.

Since 2005, Crawford Consulting SDC has been developing industry standard software that augments the capabilities of SAP. The Plus Pack software includes functional enhancements, standardized interfaces and flexible reporting.
Last year we introduced EnergilityDX, expanding our capabilities and giving our clients a faster, smarter way to exchange and manage data.
